Lainee Baergen and Luke Goetz, members of Almira Coulee Hartline FBLA, are stepping into service through a partnership with Soles4Souls, a global nonprofit that provides new and gently used shoes to people in need around the world. Soles4Souls has taken action to positively impact the lives of countless children. For many, receiving a pair of shoes means more than just comfort. It means confidence, renewed excitement to attend school, and the freedom to run, play, and dream without limits. You can help make this transformation possible.
Our excitement is uncontainable as we embark on this community service project. The idea all began with a simple booth. At FBLA Nationals, the striking teal of the Soles4Souls logo caught Luke’s attention and sparked an idea: We could do this in our community. Throughout our lives, we have seen that the generosity of our community and those that surround us is unmatched. With that, we decided to partner up and begin preparing an FBLA event entitled, Community Service Project. As we collect shoes to support the under-resourced, we will compile the data and present it as part of our competitive event.
We are collecting all types of shoes, from sneakers to sandals, boots to dress shoes, and everything in between! The only donation requirement is that shoes must have no holes! Beginning the 3rd of November and extending until the first week of the New Year, donation locations are as follows: Almira Coulee Hartline High School, Almira Coulee Hartline Middle School, Coulee City Assembly of God, Columbia Basin Foundation, Coulee City Post Office, Coulee Dam Community Church, Coulee Medical Center: Coulee City and Grand Coulee, Grant County PUD Main Office and Annex Building in Ephrata, Jess Ford, and The Vault Health & Fitness Center in Almira.
