Almira Schools Response to COVID-19
Although Almira schools are not currently impacted, the district has been monitoring information about COVID-19 (a type of coronavirus) around our region and world. Currently, the risk to the general public is considered to be low. However, as this is an evolving situation and in preparation for COVID-19 potentially affecting our schools, we will work closely with our local health officials to follow their direction and our district protocols.
As I’m sure you are aware, as of today, there are 13 COVID-19 Cases in Washington state and 2 deaths. The illness seems to be impacting the older population or people with compromised health conditions.
Although there have been school closures as part of the response in Washington, these closures were not ordered by any Health Jurisdiction. We are continuing to isolate or quarantine any suspect cases. At this time, we are not monitoring any resident in Lincoln County.
Meal delivery to Almira Lion's Club Park will be scheduled between 9:30 and 10:30 starting March 23rd. Please call the school if you need delivery to rural Almira.
